The Aurelia rocked back and forth throughout the night with the waves splashing up against the hull of the ship. The brig was located in line where the ship meets the sea. Rarely did light creep in from above, but when it did, it meant that there was a new prisoner aboard. That was something that seldom happened; most, if not all, captives drowned or were drowned in the journey back to the ship.
